iPad Pro to Get iPhone 17 Pro's Vapor Chamber Cooling

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple plans to equip the iPad Pro with a Vapor Chamber (VC) thermal plate, similar to the one in the iPhone 17 Pro models.

In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman reported that as chip performance continues to improve, Apple plans to introduce vapor chamber cooling technology to the iPad Pro.

This new feature could be introduced as early as the next-generation iPad Pro, which is likely to be powered by the "Apple M6" chip manufactured using TSMC's 2-nanometer process.

The vapor chamber system will help alleviate performance throttling, especially as the iPad Pro's ability to handle high-intensity workflows continues to increase.

If the move to introduce vapor chambers to the iPhone and iPad Pro proves successful, Apple might extend this technology to other passively cooled devices, such as the MacBook Air.

According to Gurman, the new M6 iPad Pro models are expected to hit the market in the spring of 2027.
