AirPods Pro 3 Users Report Static/Hissing Noise with ANC On

Recently, some users have reported on Reddit that their AirPods Pro 3 emit a static-like noise when Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is enabled, but no media is playing.

Affected users describe the sound as similar to static, an audible hiss, white noise, rainfall, or waves breaking.

They state that this static noise is audible in Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Adaptive Noise Cancellation (Adaptive), and Transparency Mode.

Not all AirPods Pro 3 units appear to be affected, as some users report having no issues whatsoever.

Some users had their earbuds replaced by Apple, only to find that the replacement AirPods Pro 3 suffered from the same problem.

At this point, it does not seem to be an isolated incident. It is currently unclear whether the static noise users are hearing is a hardware issue or a software issue, but if it is software-related, Apple might address it in a future firmware update.

The only reliable way to completely eliminate the static noise currently appears to be to turn off both Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency Mode.

Have you experienced this issue while using your AirPods Pro 3?
